Frequently Asked Questions

How long are the dog sledding tours?

Our winter experiences typically last 2 hours, while summer kennel tours run 90 minutes. Both include orientation, hands-on time with the dogs, and the mushing experience.

Is dog sledding safe for children?

Absolutely! We offer family-friendly experiences for children ages 2 and up. Children under 12 must ride with an adult guardian. Please note, the dogs run around loose during the Kennel tour and walk, so it may not be suitable for small children or guests who are scared of dogs.

What should I wear?

For winter tours, we recommend dressing in warm layers, including snow pants, winter jacket, hat, gloves, and warm boots. We provide additional outer gear if needed. Summer visitors should dress for moderate Alaska temperatures with light layers. We also recommend wearing clothing that can get dirty and close toed shoes.

Can I drive the sled myself?

No. Our sleds are double drivers. Everyone will have an experienced guide on the sled with them, who is responsible for keeping the sled upright and the speed safe for the dogs. It’s the guests responsibility to help drive the sled and keep it upright. There’s also a spot for a guest to sit, if needed. Our summer tours involve a side-by-side that is operated by a guide.

What if the weather is bad?

Our tours run in most weather conditions, as true mushing happens in all kinds of Alaskan weather. In extreme conditions, we offer rescheduling or refunds.

Will I really see Denali?

Our location offers spectacular Denali views on clear days. While weather can sometimes affect visibility, we know the best viewpoints and timing for mountain viewing.
